Lakes Area Wheelers is the family oriented 4x4 club in the Brainerd Lakes Area. We are not a hardcore club, although we do sometimes push the limits of our vehicles. As our vehicles have evolved so has our wheeling. While we still like to get out and trail ride once in a while, we've kind of graduated to rock crawling. Our rigs call for obstacles that are more challenging. Most of our wheeling trips are day trips but we do have some overnight camping trips. We like to get together and go out wheeling at least once a month. We also have monthly meetings. Please feel free to drop us an email (just click on the contact link) if you'd like more information about a great club in central Minnesota. HAVE A WHEELIN' GREAT DAY!
*Weather updates for upcoming events will be posted beginning one week prior to event.

08/13/09 BLUE GOOSE FISHING LAUNCH. A great time was had by all on our fishing launch Thursday night. Jeremy really showed us how to fish. Seems like every few minutes he was reeling one in. But if I'm not mistaken not a one of 'em were keepers. For the record, Craig's walleye was the biggest. <sackin frackin brackin yackin!!>
07/18/09 KINSHIP JEEP TRIP '09! Our fourth and so far our finest Kinship Partners event.

The rain we got earlier in the week made for some pretty big mud puddles which are always a big hit with the kids. The weather was a little on the drizzley side in the morning but things warmed up in the afternoon. All in all a great day!! We can't wait till next year!
07/05/09 BRAINERD 4TH OF JULY PARADE. Lakes Area Wheelers once again participated in the annual parade in Brainerd. It was alot of fun wowing the crowd with our wheel climbs.
07/05/09 KELLY'S JEEP MAKES IT'S DEBUT! The amount of work that Mike and Kelly must have done to get it ready before the 4th of July parade is impressive to say the least. One wonders if they remembered to eat during the last couple weeks. Nice job you guys!! More news and notes about the parade to follow in the next few days, keep an eye out for it.
Do you have a stock, or slightly modified Jeep or similar vehicle? Would you like to take it off road like they show in the commercials? We've got the club for you! After building, modifying, and building some more on our primary rigs, a few of us have decided it would be fun to return to our roots. As the name indicates the tire size would be limited to 31" or below with a suspension lift of 3.5" or below. You can run a factory limited slip but no aftermarket lockers, or welded differentials will be allowed. So get that grocery getter out of the mall parking lot and use it for what it was built for, gettin' dirty!!Contact us for more information. Please include your vehicle specs. Any make and model is welcome, although we wouldn't recommend taking a full sized vehicle on some of the trails we travel.
Contact Kelly if you need stickers! She may still have a few on hand, otherwise she can get some ordered.
